11-year-old Aaron Perez was attacked by a shark and remains hospitalized in guarded condition as of today.
The boy was bitten on the arm and leg by a shark on July 25th in the evening at Bryan Beach on the Gulf of Mexico, firefighters said.
Officials believe the species of shark that had attacked the boy was a bull-shark. It is speculated that the shark went after the boy’s catch — three live fish in a net — during the shark’s feeding time.
This is the second recent shark attack in the Freeport, Texas area. A few months earlier, a fisherman was bitten when he reeled in a shark and was holding it up for a picture.
