Fred Buyle and William Winram invite you to embark on an adventure of a lifetime —an eight day scientific expedition on a live-aboard vessel that will depart San Diego for Guadalupe Island Mexico to tag Great White Sharks. Fred and William will be joined by Dr. Sandra Bessudo (Presidential High Counsellor for environmental Management- Columbia) and Dr. Mauricio Hoyos (Director of the White Shark research at Guadalupe Island.)

Participants will be able to observe the tagging work from the safety of a cage, as Fred and William work on a breath-hold tagging the White sharks as part of the scientific research being conducted at Guadalupe Island. Each day participants will follow a schedule of regular cage diving, daily meals and evening talks and presentations on sharks and shark conservation, the island of Guadalupe and the inevitable re-cap of the days events. This is a rare opportunity to join a real scientific team in the field, to learn first-hand about a marine ecosystem and its inhabitants and to contribute to the success of a ground-breaking expedition. To secure your spot on the vessel “Islander” for this exciting trp in October send an email to sharks@oceanencounters.net.
