Freediving ICARE Trophy Winners Announced

ICARE (International Center for Apnea Recognition and Education) has announced the winners of the 2009 awards.

The winners are as follows:

  • Best Female Freediver 2009 – Sara Campbell (UK)
  • Best Male Freediver 2009 – Martin Stepanek (Czech Republic)
  • Best Female Relevation 2009 – Suzy Osler (New Zealand)
  • Best Male Relevation 2009 – Bjarte Nygard (Norway)
  • Best National Instituion 2009 – AIDA Denmark
  • Best International Judge 2009 – Kimmo Lahtinen (Finland)
  • Best Captain/Coach 2009 – Kerian Hibbs (New Zealand)
  • Special ICARE Trophy 2009 – Apnea Academy

The ICARE trophies have been awarded since 2003 and are based on public votes for nominations and elections.
