ICARE announce 2003 FreeDiving award winners

ICARE have announced the winners of the 2003 ICARE FreeDiving Trophy 2003. These awards are designed to recognise outstanding achievements in the FreeDiving world.

The 2003 winners are:

  • BEST FEMALE FREEDIVER 2003 : Tanya STREETER, USA
  • BEST MALE FREEDIVER 2003 : Herbert NITSCH, Austria
  • BEST FEMALE ROOKIE 2003 : Yamina ENEDHAL-MEKKI, Sweden
  • BEST MALE ROOKIE 2003 : Stig Aavall SEVERINSEN, Denmark
  • BEST NATIONAL INSTITUTION 2003 : Canadian Association for Freediving and Apnea (CAFA – AIDA Canada)
  • BEST CAPTAIN/COACH 2003 : Kirk KRACK, Canada
  • BEST INTERNATIONA JUDGE 2003 : Sébastien NAGEL, Switzerland

Stephan is the Founder of DeeperBlue.com. His passion for the underwater world started early years with a try-dive in a hotel pool that soon formulated into a passion he pursued in all his spare time. He is a BSAC trained Dive Leader and has completed over 1,500 dives as well as enjoying Freediving (a personal best of 28m Constant Weight and a 4 minute breath-hold).
