“In the Philippines, one group working hard to address and support
biodiversity conservation is The Sulu Fund. With the help of volunteer
divers and researchers, the Sulu Fund has been conducting extensive research & monitoring, to provide a scientific backbone to their community education and resource management efforts. CORAL supporters helped give over $16,000 in microgrants to the Sulu Fund since 1998 to further research on coral reef degradation, decline of fisheries, and marine protected area development in the Philippines.
