“Oceans 2001, hosted by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS1), is a conference focussing on marine life and some of the threats it faces. The programme includes presentations, talks and footage from the BBC Online team involved in the making of the ‘Blue Planet’ series2. The conference will be held on Saturday 20th October 2001 at the University of Southampton, and is supported by PADI Project AWARE3.
Speakers include representatives from fields of marine biology and conservation. A wide range of topics of interest to everyone interested in the sea will be covered, from protection of marine turtles, to cod and climate change. Whether you are a marine life ‘expert’ or simply interested in finding out more about life in our seas – this conference is for you.
