The 2012 Suunto Vertical Blue competition has been announced for November 20-30 at Deans Blue Hole in the Bahamas and for the first time will be the final stop in the AIDA World Cup.

56 athletes, representing 21 countries will compete over nine days in three depth disciplines: Constant Weight No Fins, Constant Weight with Fins and Free Immersion to determine who is the world’s deepest man and woman and compete for a prize of $20,000.

Each discipline is given equal weighting (points are awarded as a percentage of the top score in that discipline).  The freediver who scores the most total points from their best dives in the three disciplines will be crowned the Suunto Vertical Blue Champion.

More information can be found on the Vertical Blue Website.
