The men continued to have a mixed day with a mixture of strong performances (especially at the deepest of the pack) but also some athletes turning early or pushing themselves a bit too hard. We saw 2 new National Records: Juan Francisco Gutierrez (Gutamala) at 53m and Piero Giobbi (Sweden) at 72m.

As usual, protests and reviews are yet to happen but based on unofficial preliminary results from the top three athletes likely to be on the podium include:

  • GOLD (JOINT) – Alexey Molchanov (Russia) – 90m
  • GOLD (JOINT) – William Trubridge (New Zealand) – 90m
  • BRONZE – Morgan Bourc’his (France) – 86m

Whilst all performances above looked clean, as we saw yesterday with the women the final standings can change based on judges review of camera footage.
