A 50/50 double header for the PFI team in Grand Cayman

On day one of the Performance Freediving International Grand Cayman 2005 series of record attempts Mandy-Rae Cruikshank and George “Doc” Lopez managed to secure two new records. Mandy-Rae completed a very clean dive in Constant No Fins to a depth of 50 meters surpassing the old record of 42 meters set by Annabell Briseno.

On the men’s side George “Doc” Lopez easily glided his way down on a bright yellow sled to set the first U.S. Variable Ballast record that now stands at 50 meters.

Martin Stepanek chose to sit out today’s events due to a recent low back injury that has kept him out of the water. It is believed that he will soon begin his attempts as his back is getting better with every passing day. The PFI Team has 6 more days of attempts before they can all take a breather! More story to follow….
