“It has recently been identified that molding variations in one component of the overpressure valve (OPV) used in Sherwood Scuba and Genesis Scuba Buoyancy Compensators (BCD) could, in rare instances, prevent the OPVs from sealing properly. Although this variation is not present in every OPV, and due to the difficulty in determining in the field which OPVs are suspect, we are requiring that all affected BCD’s be updated with new OPV assemblies. Replacement OPV assemblies are now being supplied to Authorized Sherwood Scuba and Genesis Scuba Dealers to facilitate this replacement.
