Best Scuba Regulators for 2016

Some divers like to rent their regulators when they get to the dive centre they are diving with, however some do not enjoy using used regulators and if you are diving in places where the standards may not be so great, then the best advice is to go out and get a regulator of your own. This way, you will know that it is being properly cared for and that no one has had his or her mouths round the mouthpiece. Regulators can be quite expensive, so if you are going to spend money, you might as well know which regulators are the best. Mares Prestige 15X

This regulator has no dive/predive switch, however, like the majority of modern regulators, it uses the Venturi effect (The Venturi effect is the reduction in fluid pressure that results when a fluid flows through a constricted section (or choke) of a pipe), which reduces the effort required to keep the diaphragm open when inhaling. The Mares Prestige has a simple design, however is very effective. Its design provides the essential protection from sand, salt, chlorine, contaminants and pool acid, which means that this reg needs little to no maintenance. The second stage is mid-sized and can be used by all divers and has a stylish appeal. It provides effortless breathing and does not have a tendency to free-flow at the surface.
