The AIDA second round elections are now over and if the AIDA Assembly ratifies the results we have a new AIDA board for 2010. There will be a lot of work ahead as there are many new things to learn, big and small.
One of them is a communications and this is just the beginning. As long as I run my position as an AIDA president I will be available here in DeeperBlue, where many of the freedivers around the world are too. I will not be here just for the spotlight (which I personally dislike) but I am here for You – the freedivers. If you have anything you want to share with me then this will be one (but not the only) place where you can tell it to me directly. My job is to make sure I listen and you will be heard.
In the future I will share you the information of what we are doing in the AIDA Board and in AIDA Assembly and with what kind of topics we are working on. But first of all I will give you a challenge dear Freediver:
What kind of AIDA you would be willing to see in the future and what kind of topics you would like to see that AIDA would work on in a short and in a long term?
My opinion is that AIDA exists only if you, dear Freedivers, are having some value from AIDA. So help me to help you by telling what kind of services and things you are willing to see from AIDA. My role is then to help the AIDA board and Assembly to work for our common goals.
Last but not least, I would like to thank Stephan Whelan in person who made this channel possible for us.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Kimmo Lahtinen, AIDA President
