A flotilla of boats, spectators and various inflatables came out for the event as well as representatives from the many sponsors and Reserve Guards who provided speedy transportation for the judges and Athletes.
The dive itself took just over four minutes and on surfacing Carlos was jubilent but reserved as he made sure to recover his breath before celebrating. A testament to his strength and concentration, Carlos never mentioned the significant amount of pica-pica (jellyfish bits) that afflicted everyone else in the water.
Later that evening Stig Severinsen made a second unsuccessful attempt at the Static World Record and ten days of training and records in Venenzuela came to a close.
