Check Out The New Octospot Dive Camera

GoPro better watch out — there’s a new competitor in town: the Octospot Dive Camera.

The Octospot is the first camera that’s able to not just take underwater video, but also log your dive. It sports a pressure and temperature sensor, automatically corrects the white balance to match your depth, and has electronic image stabilization.

The Octospot records in high quality (4K video, 12MP stills), has a rechargeable 2-plus-hour battery life (even in cold water) and is waterproof down to 200 meters/656 feet. It’s also designed to be used while wearing gloves, and a T-Rail Click Mount allows it to be mounted easily to a mask. It even vibrates when it starts recording.

The “Snap Record” button allows the diver to press once to take a picture, and hold the button down to take video. It connects to smartphones and tablets via WiFi or Bluetooth, with depth, temperature and time displayed in the video.
