A new technical diving book, “Close Calls,” is now available for pre-order.
The book is the work of Stratis Kas, with Edvardo Pavia and Michael Menduno. The book’s premise is simple and is a compilation of 68 personal stories from some of the world’s leading technical divers that features incidents that nearly cost them their lives.
By acknowledging that some of the legends of the community can make mistakes that nearly cost them dearly, any diver can make these mistakes. By acknowledging this, normal divers become even safer since if it can happen to a legend, it can definitely happen to them.
The book is available to pre-order for €35/~US$40/~£30 and will retail at its normal price of €40/~$47/~£34.5 from December 2020 on many online platforms.
Half of the book’s net profits will be donated to the Divers Alert Network Europe’s Claudius Obermaier Fund.
