Two divers who are true modern explorers: Tanya Streeter and William Shatner. Streeter, with her record-breaking freedives pushes the boundaries of human endeavor and inspires others to redefine their limits, and Shatner, whose lifetime of creativity both on screen and off whisks our imagination to places out of this world. Join these two environmental activists as together they host The Coral Reef Alliance Adventure Benefit celebrate Earth Day on Saturday April 19th in San Jose, California. Tanya and William (or Captain Kirk to most of us!) will introduce Howard and Michele Hall who will be presenting their new IMAX film, Coral Reef Adventure at The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. The climax of the evening will be a fun charity auction of many donated items, including conservation vacations, dive equipment, underwater video equipment and much more!! The auction will be followed by a desert and wine celebration to the beat of local surf band “The Aquamen”.

The Tech Museum of Innovation’s CEO, Peter Giles, and Coral Reef Alliance’s Executive Director, Brian Huse, welcome this intimate group of supporters to the Coral Reef Adventure Benefit.

The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) is a member-supported, non-profit organization, dedicated to keeping coral reefs alive around the world.
Coral reefs are one of nature’s most magnificent creations – filled with thousands of unique and valuable plants and animals. Over one-quarter of all marine species depend on healthy coral reefs. Humans depend on coral reefs too. Coral reefs are the primary source of food and income for millions of people, produce valuable chemical compounds for medicines, and provide a natural wave barrier, protecting beaches and coastlines from storms and floods.
Coral reefs have thrived on earth for over 50 million years, but we have lost over 20% of the world’s reefs in the last 20 years. Up to 70% of coral reefs may be destroyed by human activities in the next few decades if we don’t take action now.
