The Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition (COLC) has announced that Ocean Week Canada will be taking place from June 3 through June 12, 2022.
The event coincides with World Ocean Day on June 8th, 2022.
The project is run by a coalition of organizations and institutions under the umbrella of the COLC. The event aims to celebrate and raise public awareness about the importance of protecting and preserving Canada’s oceans and coastline.
A series of events will take place across Canada during the week, including a summer-long ocean festival preparing for the hosting in Vancouver of the Fifth International Marine Protected Areas Congress (IMPAC5).
