Hi to all the “sea salt for breakfast, lunch and dinner” enthusiasts around the Globe. Welcome the Deep Spearfishing Encyclopedia, Part 4: Respect.
A very sensitive topic, it is not one of the most heavily discussed out there. We like to shoot fish or “take” from the sea. And most of us tend to believe that taking as much as we can is no problem at all. But is it?
Here is a short trailer, you will understand the message of today’s episode:
Yes! Respect is what we often forget about.
We sometimes push our own bodies to unjustified extremes (whether it is “Contractions? Wait, wait… The prey is coming” or “I don’t need water, I can drink when the day is finished”). We sometimes push our partner’s limits by exceeding his diving capabilities or being greedy and impolite.
We hurt our Ocean by taking much more than we need and tipping the balance of the scales. We keep taking and forget about giving…Is it the way to go?
I don’t think so.
I suggest that we all start looking around for the repercussions of our daily choices. Take a look at the Ocean. It was a standalone and balanced system, however we did very much to hurt it’s balance and change the very basic concept of it’s biosphere. Think! How will your present actions backfire tomorrow? A year from now? 10 years?
