Largest show of its kind will take place in Houston October 13-16, 2004.

As the host city for some of the biggest events in recent history including Superbowl XXXVIII, and the home of the 2004 Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game, it seems fitting that the thriving city of Houston, TX would also host the largest trade event in the world for companies doing business in the scuba diving, action water sports and adventure travel industries ? DEMA Show 2004. Taking place October 13-16, 2004 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, DEMA (The Diving Equipment & Marketing Association) Show 2004 will offer the most comprehensive international marketplace for the scuba diving industry featuring hundreds of exhibitors showcasing products, services and destinations, more than 40 seminars and sessions, the New Product Showcase, Center Stage at DEMA Show featuring the DEMA Fashion Show and the newly created Adventure Travel Symposium. With the 175,000-square-foot Show floor already 90% sold, this year, 14,000 industry professionals are expected to gather in Houston to take part in this exciting event and enjoy all that the city has to offer.

A city rich in history and culture, Houston is a great place to spend a few days before or after the DEMA Show and to explore after show hours. Teeming with attractions including the Downtown Aquarium, NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Houston Zoo, Houston Texans NFL football, amusement parks including Six Flags AstroWorld, Traders Village, the country?s largest outdoor market plus parks, gardens, museums, first class shopping and an assortment of restaurants DEMA Show participants will have a wide array of choices for how to spend their "off time." "This is the first time since the complete re-vitalization of downtown that the DEMA Show has come back to Houston," said Tom Ingram, Executive Director of DEMA. "We selected Houston as the host city for our show for several reasons including its outstanding conference facilities and attractions as well as its accessibility. Additionally Houston is the home of NASA. As dive professionals, we felt an immediate affinity toward this city. NASA trains its astronauts using diving as a tool and is also heavily involved with aquanaut training. Like NASA, diving professionals are also involved with exploration, science, and discovery."
