With a major hurricane bearing down on the U.S. East Coast, the Divers Alert Network is letting people know that the organization will strive to keep its Emergency Hotline and other services running as much as possible.
DAN, whose main offices are in Durham, North Carolina, tweeted Wednesday afternoon:
“As Hurricane Florence approaches North Carolina, it’s uncertain just how much we’ll be affected here at the DAN offices. Despite the severe weather, the DAN Emergency Hotline will remain operational 24/7.
“If you have a dive-related incident or other medical situation requiring our assistance, don’t hesitate to call. Please keep in mind that the hotline is for emergencies (including travel emergencies). We will be doing our best to keep the Medical Information Line open for non-emergency inquiries during regular business hours, but please understand that our resources may be limited and we may be assisting callers on the emergency hotline. Our customer service line will remain open during normal business hours, and our membership team will be available as long as we have power and internet. We urge everyone to take precautions and stay safe if you will be affected by the hurricane.”
