A new diving video was launched at the Long Beach Scuba Show in southern California by the Discover Dominica Authority.
The video aims to illustrate the underwater beauty of Dominica after it was hit by hurricane Maria. The video was shot several months after the hurricane, and shows that most reefs deeper than 12m/40ft are undamaged, and even though some of the shallower reefs sustained damage, there are still plenty of shallow healthy reefs.
According to Colin Piper, the CEO of Discover Dominica:
“We are excited about the new dive video, which displays the thriving dive product currently available in Dominica and which complements our other dive marketing initiatives to assist the destination to increase dive awareness.”
Divers wanting to support Dominica can visit Dive Fest 2018, which will be held July 6-15, 2018. During the festival you can take part in whale watching, clean up dives, discover scuba diving, as well as have fun at a water park.
