Diventures has announced the introduction of its Explorers Program for Kids.
The program is designed for children aged 8 through 12 with strong swimming skills. It aims to give them a basic understanding of snorkeling and swimming gear, the marine environment and of course, to have as much fun as possible.
The program is conducted as a camp style, including classroom sessions where students learn the theory and basics followed by pool sessions later in the day. The kids progress from snorkeling sessions to scuba in the pool’s deep end by the end of the week.
The Diventures Explorers Program for Kids will use Scuba School International’s (SSI) Scuba Explorers program as a base and builds upon it, adding ecology and snorkeling.
According to Corinne Saliga, whose 11- and 9-year-olds completed the course:
“My husband and I are divers, and we wanted a family hobby to do together. My son is afraid of water, so getting him to submerge his head and go down to 14 feet was a big deal. My daughter Ariel loves the water. She’s like a mermaid. I mean, it’s literally her name!”
