DJI, the company best known for its small drones, is plunging headfirst into the action camera market with the recent unveiling of its Osmo Action camera.
Retailing for US$349 (~312 Euros), about $50 cheaper than GoPro’s Hero 7 Black camera, the Osmo Action features screens on the front and back as well as “RockSteady” stabilization technology. It’s able to shoot in 4K HDR video, 8x slow motion, UHD image quality and is waterproof down to 11 meters/36 feet.
You can also purchase a separate case that extends the waterproofing down to 60 meters/197 feet as well as a handle that floats.
Will the Osmo Action be a “GoPro killer?” Only time will tell. In the meantime, go to the DJI website for more info, or check out the company’s promotional video plus a couple of reviews from prominent YouTubers below.
