Drugs testing for Competition Freediving

“Tanya Streeter became the first competitive free-diver to be drugs-tested after setting new free-diving world records off the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe.

Streeter was tested under the International Olympic Committee guidelines after the well known free-diver broke the existing Womens Free Immersion Record by plunging to 70m. Streeter also broke her own Constant Weight Seawater World Record by three meters, extending the record to 70m.

The new testing regime is to be administrated by the free diving governing body AIDA (The International Association for the Development of Apnea). All free divers embarking on world record attempts and free-diving world championships are said to be included in the testing.”
