Egyptian Diver Wael Omar To Attempt New Scuba Record In March

Egyptian scuba diver Wael Omar wants to attempt a new dive record in March.

Egyptians really seem to like setting and breaking world scuba diving records.

In March, Egyptian diver Wael Omar will try to break the Guinness World Record for the deepest technical scuba dive, according to The Scuba News.

In September 2014, fellow Egyptian Ahmed Gabr broke Omar’s previous world record of 330 meters/1,083 feet with a dive down to 332.4 meters/nearly 1,091 feet.

Next month, Omar has set a goal of diving down to 400 meters/1,312 feet.

If all goes as scheduled, Omar will complete a 28-hour dive on March 30 off the shore of Sharm El Sheikh in the Red Sea.
