Every Shipwreck Found ?

Scientists mapping the Hudson River in New York have declared that they have located every vessel that has floundered in the Hudson in the last 400 years. More than 200 wrecks spread over the 140 miles from southern tip of Manhatten to Troy have been identified.

The maps are a benefit of a state funded project to map the river bottom for habitat and pollution-abatement studies, every square foot of the river deeper than six feet was scanned.

However do not expect haunting photos like the first pictures of the Titanic because visibility in much of the Hudson does not exceed 2 inches or 5 cm, though on a good day divers might be able to see the end of their arm.

It is hoped that the maps will one day be released, but there are no plans as of now.
