GoPro this week unveiled a whole bunch of new features for the company’s HERO4 Black and Silver video cameras.
If you own a HERO4 Black or Silver, you can now film the setting up of a freediving competition or a sunrise/sunset on the beach or a rising/receding tide or even stalking and spearing a fish via the camera’s new “time lapse video mode,” with little to no post-production to show a lengthy sequence in a short time.
You can also take advantage of the “30/6 burst photo” mode by being able to take 30 photos in six seconds. The new software also has an “auto rotate” function that automatically adjusts the camera’s view to right-side-up even if the camera is positioned upside down. Additionally, you can now mark certain moments via “HighLight Tags” either while recording video or playing it back on the camera.

You can update your HERO4 either via the GoPro app on your smartphone/tablet or by going to the update page on the company’s website.
