A professional fisherman got the shock of his career when he found a Great White Shark tangled in his nets.
Sadly the female died before she could be untangled.
Back at the beach the 4.6m shark weighed in at 1600kg. The liver alone weighed 400kg. An investigation of the stomach revealed a 90kg Bull Seal, apparently swallowed whole.
The shark was buried, as the high mercury levels in mature sharks make them unsuitable for eating.
