Hawks Cay Resort, which had been closed for renovation since last September due to damages sustained during Hurricane Irma, reopened this past weekend with the launch of its 10th annual Heroes Salute Program.
Starting now until December 20, the annual program honors active-duty and retired U.S. military, fire and rescue, law enforcement and medical personnel with special room rates, weekly tributes and discounted prices on experiences.
Heroes Salute officially kicked off this past weekend with a events including a 5K Run/Walk, live music concert, all-American barbeque, and a very special tribute ceremony on Saturday, September 1st, featuring U.S. Congressman Brian Mast as a special speaker, a color guard performance, and fireworks.

The renovated Hawks Cay Resort, located on Duck Key in the Middle Florida Keys roughly halfway between Key Largo and Key West, now has redesigned guestrooms in the main hotel, two new restaurants, and an expanded adults-only area, among other enhancements.
Rates for qualified heroes start at US$129 per night. Civilians interested in participating can take advantage of the Heroes Supporter package that provides a 15 percent discount by donating $5 or more to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
