Reports from a BBC Documentary Team, headed by Producer Mike Rossiter that they located the wreck of the HMS Ark Royal mid Decemebr . The Ministry of Defence had assisted the progam by providing a rough idea as to the area they believed the HMS Ark Royal was in, it was located in 3,500 ft.
The HMS Ark Royal was torpedoed by a German U Boat 30 miles off Gibraltor and sank on 13th November 1941, one sailor died and the rest of the crew 1500 were rescued.
The documentary is part of a marine archaelogy series for the BBC
