A crowdfunding campaign has been launched for Oxama, the first talking oximeter computer.
The Oxama aims to help freedivers stay safe as well as develop their technique by giving them audible information about their vitals like heart rate and blood oxygen saturation.
The fact that the computer can “speak” to the freediver is crucial since divers may often not have time to look at their computer or may find them difficult to read. According to the CEO of Oxama:
“This is where OXAMA excels in communicating a host of environmental and biometric datas in real-time. No need to stare at the computer. You can explore your underwater immersion when it tells you about everything you should know including your heart rate and blood oxygen saturation. So, you can safely enjoy your freediving and stay focused during the immersion.”
In addition to all of the above, any data from the dive can be downloaded via Bluetooth to your smartphone via the Oxama app.
The Kickstarter campaign for the Oxama started in mid-October 2021.
