If you love Yoga and have a hankering to take a dive vacation in Bonaire, there’s a new PADI specialty that is only available on the island that might tickle your fancy.

The new PADI Mindful Diver specialty is only available on the island of Bonaire. The new course takes two days and four dives, and teaches divers about the science of Mindfulness. Divers will develop various Mindfulness skills that are aimed at improving their breathing, body and mind prior, during, and post-diving.

The specialty was authored by mindfulness educator and Iyengar Yoga instructor Sarah Wilner, and is based on the body of research known as the “Blue Mind,” which studies why being in or around water is good for humans and has a beneficial physiological and psychological impact on us.

The ultimate objective with mindful training and scuba diving is to enhance and increase the diver’s awareness about all the is going on during the dive. From their gear to their buddy, divers should be aware of everything including that magnificent little critter scooting along the sandy bottom.

The new speciality is only available on Bonaire through Mindful Diver and Beyond the Corals.
