Mandy Rae Cruickshank aborted an attempt to break the women’s Static Apnea record today, only a few minutes into the dive. The event was held at the Cayman Hyatt Regency Resort simming pool, with AIDA internaitonal judges Bill Stromberg and Nicolas Laporte presiding. Mandy, who has been battling neuromuscular problems in her upper body and a mild tonsilitis, said later that she knew early on that she simply did not have a record breath hold in her this day.
