On Wednesday 2nd October an amazing sight was seen on the shores of Loch Lomond in Scotland. A mermaid came ashore to make a wish come true for a seriously ill 8 year old little girl called Lauren Cosgrove.
It sounds like a fairy tail but this amazing wish was brought to life by the Rays of Sunshine foundation and professional mermaid (and friend of DeeperBlue.com) Linden Wolbert.
Lauren, dressed as a mermaid, was enjoying a family outing at the Sealife Glasgow Aquarium and suspected nothing as she was being taken for a drive after a tour of the aquarium. When they stopped on the shore of the Loch Lauren spotted Mermaid Linden swimming towards her waving.
Completely overjoyed by meeting a real life mermaid Lauren and Linden spent 10 minutes chatting and posing for photos. Lauren also received a beautiful pearl necklace from Linden with a promise to keep in touch! Afterwards, Lauren couldn’t stop smiling. She said:
“It’s the first time I’ve met a real-life mermaid! I love the necklace. Linden told me she found it under the sea and thought I’d like it.”
Linden, who resides in Los Angeles and is used to performing at lavish parties as well as working on projects such as “The Mermaid Minute”, had this to say:
“Meeting little Lauren on the shores of Loch Lomond was life changing for the wisher as well as the wish-giver. The happiness in Lauren’s eyes was so warm and contagious, I temporarily forgot the fact I was sitting in glacial loch water. Children have a way of putting things into perspective, helping us adults remember the things in life that truly matter most: Love, happiness, health and appreciation of little things. My magical visit with Lauren was a stark reminder of just that, and has inspired me in ways I never could have imagined.”
