Sundance Watersports at Robbie’s of Islamorada is the latest company to offer SNUBA tours in the Florida Keys, and is currently the only operator offering a SNUBA experience in the Upper Keys.
The company is now offering a 2.5-hour SNUBA experience with tours departing at 10am and 1:30pm. Participants will receive instruction and get approximately 30 minutes underwater exploring the reefs. Each tour is limited to six guests only, and the experience takes place at different locations around Islamorada reef, including Alligator Lighthouse, Hen and Chickens, and Cheeca Rock.
SNUBA is open to a host of ages, and participants as young as eight years old can take part in what can be a great family experience shared by several generations.
SNUBA is a mix of snorkeling and scuba diving, with participants using a regulator attached to a 20ft/6m hose to breathe from as they explore. The hose is attached to a 5ft/1.5m pontoon on the surface.
