Ocean Eye Launches Conservation NFT Series

-

Global conservation platform Ocean Eye has launched the first-of-its-kind non-fungible token (NFT) series called “Ocean Eye – Chasing the Beauty.”

The stunning series of images have their NFTs minted on the Ethereum blockchain and are being sold for ETH0.1. The proceeds from the sale will go towards funding for the marine conservation technology platform Ocean Eye.

The images are the work of acclaimed, award-winning photojournalist Paul Hilton and document the tragic destruction of our natural world over the last decade.

Commenting on the images, Hilton said:

“Ocean Eye is one of the most promising innovations in a long-time that can help bring solutions to critical issues of marine wildlife capture and trade from shark finning to unsustainable hunting of all marine species.”

While Sari Tolvanen, the CEO of Ocean Eye, added:

“By connecting profit to purpose for the tourism operators and communities, it will shift the focus from the current unsustainable behavior of fisheries and coastal communities towards a sustainable, regenerative and profitable new focus industry that will provide positive livelihood for the future.”
