PADI Helps Veterans Across The World Through Diving

As part of its pillars of change philosophy, PADI is helping veterans around the world with supportive dive programs.

PADI helps to improve lives of veterans around the world with various partnerships, as part of its healing and wellness effort. Partnerships include:

  • The Cody Unser First Steps Foundation which helps divers with disabilities regardless whether they are civilians or veterans.
  • Force Blue which uses marine science and conservation to bring together veterans of the US Special Forces community.
  • Deep therapy a non for profit organisation based in the United Kingdom, that helps with the rehabilitation of injured veterans through scuba diving.
  • The WAVES project in California, which helps teach veterans and their dive buddies.
  • Patriots for Disabled Divers (PFDD) in Virginia which trains injured veterans across the United States.
  • The Ocean Enterprises Foundation in San Diego, also teaches wounded former service personnel, and helps veterans acclimatise to civilian life.
  • Scuba & Travel Aquatics Centre in Colorado, has been helping people with disabilities from all walks of life learn to dive for the last 40 years.
  • Trident Veteran Adaptive Programs (TVAP) also helps disabled veterans across the United States.
  • Syed Abd Rahman, helps children, as well as veterans and divers with disabilities, build confidence through his foundation Kids Scuba in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

PADI is also developing programs to help disabled divers, with the introduction of several courses specifically designed to help disabled and handicapped scuba divers.
