Pan-Pacific Freediving Championships Kick Off

The Pan Pacific Freediving Championships at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre began started today with Static (STA) championships. The competition which will be the biggest Freediving competition ever held in Australia saw forty two athletes from all around the Pan Pacific region performing today in static.

Two national records were set this morning. Azam Hamid from Malaysia did 5 minutes and  29 seconds, scoring 65 points. Jonathan Chong did a 6 minute and seventeen second breath hold to claim the National Record for Singapore.

The Championships continue tomorrow with Dynamic No Fins.
