PSI-PCI Clears Up Industry Rumors Doing The Rounds

-

PSI-PCI has spoken out to dispel and correct various rumors going around the various dive industry message boards and forums.

While some rumors are harmless, some are dangerous and require addressing.

Rumors that have been dispelled include:

  • From the Start of 2021, Steel Cylinders are exempt from oxygen cleaning requirements. Needless to say, this is absurd since science and chemistry have not changed, and omitting the cleaning is extremely dangerous. According to Compressed Gas Association information, cylinders, steel, or otherwise still need oxygen cleaning when used oxygen concentrations higher than 23.5%.
  • Luxfer 6498 cylinders will no longer be valid. This is total misinformation. Any remaining Luxfer 6498 cylinders are valid as long as they meet all local and national testing requirements.
