Rare ‘Unicorn Of The Sea’ Spotted Off Australia

Divers off Port Douglas, Australia had a rare treat when they encountered the stunning and rare Unicorn of the Sea.

According to the Daily Mail, the creature was spotted by diver Jay Wink off Port Douglas, Queensland. He posted an image of the creature on Facebook, with the question:

“Can anyone name the pink thing?”

The translucent, tubular-like creature seems at first glance to be very much like an alien creature, yet it is in fact a Pyrosome, which is floating colony of tunicates.

The creature was quite vivid in colour, although sadly according to Wink, the photos do not do it justice since they are quite translucent.
