SeaLife Introduces New Underwater Lighting Set

Underwater shutterbugs now have a new choice when shopping around for lighting sets.

SeaLife recently introduced the new Sea Dragon Duo 2000 underwater lighting set which features a pair of Sea Dragon 2000 light heads for a combined output of 4000 lumens. Both light heads offer pan-and-tilt adjustable movement and a 100-degree wide beam angle, easily providing full lighting coverage for cameras with extremely wide fields of view, including action and POV cameras exceeding a 170-degree view angle.

“All of today’s high resolution underwater video cameras need adequate lighting to display the bright, rich colors found in coral, fish and other undersea creatures. Without sufficient lighting, video will appear grainy, muted, lifeless and overly blue,” according to SeaLife.

Using the included Flex-Connect Dual Tray, the two lights, each with ergonomic grip, are mounted on each side of the camera. Optional Flex-Connect Flex Arms can be added between the light head and grip, providing 100 degrees of bending motion and an even wider range of possible lighting angles.

Each light operates with only a single button, quickly adjusts between 3 power levels, and is depth rated to 200 feet/60 meters. The Sea Dragon Duo 2000 set is compatible with all underwater cameras using a standard tripod mount, as well as POV action cameras like GoPro using the included adapter for GoPro cameras.

For divers who want to take both underwater photos and video, SeaLife also offers a similar set that includes one Sea Dragon 2000 Lumen light and one Sea Dragon Flash. The Sea Dragon Duo 2000 Flash set includes everything needed to sync the flash with any brand of underwater camera.

Both sets include a soft padded travel case which is spacious enough to also hold an underwater camera. A GoPro camera adapter, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries for the 2000 Lumen lights, and spare O-rings and O-ring lubricant for both the light and strobe heads are also included.

The Sea Dragon Duo 2000 Underwater Lighting Set retails for around $899.95, and the Sea Dragon Duo 2000 Flash Underwater Lighting Set retails for around $799.95.
