Spearfisherwoman Kimi Werner Featured On Discovery Channel’s ‘Pacific Warriors’ Show

The Discovery Channel recently debuted a reality show focusing on people who go kayak fishing off Hawaii.

While most of the participants fish aboard their kayaks with rod-and-reel, one of those Hawaiians profiled in “Pacific Warriors” is 2008 National Spearfishing Champion Kimi Werner, who also happens to be a Patagonia Surf Ambassador.

During her initial segment, Werner openly acknowledges the risk she takes when freediving for her dinner.

“Having a healthy amount of fear is exactly what keeps me alive. I am reminded that I am so small and so humbled in this big ocean and I think that the people that forget that are the ones who wind up in dangerous situations.”

“Pacific Warriors” airs Friday nights at 10:00 pm. For more info, check out the Discovery Channel’s Facebook page.
