Submissions Are Open For UN World Oceans Day 2021 Photo Competition

Submissions for the 2021 UN World Oceans Day Photo Competition are now open.

Renowned photographer Ellen Cuylaerts will be the contest curator, and the judges include Aquatic Biologist and Photojournalist Jennifer Hayes from the United States , Documentary Filmmaker and Photographer Julian Lennon from England. Conservation Photojournalist, Producer, and Underwater Filmmaker Joakim Odelberg from Sweden, Underwater Photographer and Diving Instructor Ipah Uid Lynn from Malaysia, Marine Biologist Afelandra Clez Cibrian from Mexico, and Environmental Filmmaker, Photographer and Adventurer Michel Strogoff from Madagascar.

This year’s contest categories include:

  • Ocean Life & Livelihood
  • Above Water Seascapes
  • Underwater Seascapes
  • Digital Ocean Photo Art
  • Faces of the Sea
  • Oceanic Discoveries

The submission deadline is at 12 midnight Eastern Standard Time (EST) on April 30th, 2021, and winners will be announced during the United Nations World Oceans Day annual event on June 8th, 2021.
