Survey Results: DEMA Show Should Stay Trade-Only

-

The results are in, and they don’t bode well for the general public being allowed into the annual DEMA Show.

The Diving Equipment and Marketing Association has released the results of a survey it completed last month where respondents by a 62% to 32% majority said the show should remain a trade-exclusive event open only to dive professionals.

According to DEMA:

“While the Association has previously conducted surveys on this subject, it is important to periodically review current trends in the marketplace, especially in light of potential market changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest survey that closed on April 8, 2022, was the first DEMA survey that asked about the industry’s stance on consumers at DEMA Show since the onset of the pandemic.”

DEMA received more than 1,000 responses to the survey, which consisted of 13 total questions, four of which were “identifiers” to help understand who was answering, from what location, and their involvement with DEMA as a member.

While the majority of respondents to the survey were from DEMA Member companies, the association did get a large number of responses from both DEMA Members and non-members.

Not to worry, though. DeeperBlue.com will be back at this year’s DEMA Show in November in Orlando, Florida, bringing our readers all the latest news from the diving industry.
