Yasemin Dalkilic preparing for New World Record attempt

Yasemin will be attempting a New World Record on June 23rd.Yasemin has set a total of 6 world records, becoming the first female world champion for her country.

In the waters of Bodrum, the beautiful seaport on the southern coast of Turkey, Yasemin will attempt to add record number 7 to her list of accomplishments. Particularly interesting is the category chosen for this event. The Unassisted Constant Ballast category requires the diver to swim down and up without any aid, no fins, no pulling on a line, nothing but old fashion frog-style kicking all the way. Even more amazing is the fact that Yasemin will be going for a depth of 43 meters/141 feet, the equivalent of a 15 story building! Of the 5 recognized freediving categories, Yasemin currently holds 3 world records.

Yasemin’s safety underwater will be provided by a team of expert scuba divers who will be positioned at intervals of 10 meters/33 feet along the way, ready to assist her. Judges from the international organization F.R.E.E. (Freediving Regulations and Education Entity) will be at hand to verify the performance. The event will also be filmed by a team of underwater videographers and a LIVE broadcast of the event will be seen in Turkish TV. The record is sponsored by Quantum Watches, an international company specializing on diving watches and other precision instruments.
