2022 Marine Debris Grant Opportunities Announced

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has announced the availability of a host of Marine Debris Grants for the fiscal year 2022, which begins on October 1st, 2021.

The grant opportunities are prioritized towards projects that will create quantifiable improvements, including the removal of abandoned fishing gear, abandoned vessels, and other large and mid-size debris. In addition, the projects should also be aimed and increasing public awareness about the devasting impact marine debris has on the environment.

Interested applicants are invited to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) by September 24th, 2021. Successful applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal, with the Marine Debris program expected to release further details and host an application webinar later in the year.
