Cristina Mittermeier has been named as an Aqualung Global Ocean Ambassador.
The acclaimed photographer is the co-founder of the SeaLegacy Foundation and has had her work published in a host of leading publications, including TIME, National Geographic, and more.
As part of her efforts to highlight ocean conservation and raise awareness, Mittermeier founded a story-telling platform to amplify conservation and environmental voices.
Commenting about her body of work, Mittermeier stated:
“Images can help us understand the urgency many photographers feel to protect wild places. My work is about building a greater awareness of the responsibility of what it means to be human.”
