The first SUBMERGED Adaptive Diving Festival is now underway.
The event is taking place this week from June 9-13, 2021, in Midway/Park City, Utah.
The festival is not just about scuba diving but features a host of other activities, including rock climbing, mountain biking, and much more. Adaptive diver training will take place for adaptive divers and their buddies, as well as instructors.
On June 12 and 13, the festival will feature other activities, including equipment demonstrations, Jeep Trails, and a BBQ and dinner in the evening. The event’s special guest is Indigo Industries brand ambassador, host of Discovery Channel’s Shark Week and shark attack survivor Paul de Gelder.
Commenting on the event, retired US Army Colonel Mark Dugger from the MidWest School of Diving stated:
“Adaptive diving is the fastest-growing segment of the diving community. We are excited to create a certification opportunity for divers, dive shops, and instructors in a unique atmosphere that embraces the essence of why diving is so impactful to many of these individuals.”
While Indigo Industries CEO Ranch Pratt added:
“We live in a time where technology and understanding can merge to lift physical restrictions. Water has the magic power to free an imprisoned body and calm a haunted mind. This event is designed to show the world that being physically challenged does not mean defeat. We are so excited to bring Submerged Adaptive Festival to life and give an opportunity to Veterans and civilians with physical and emotional wounds a chance to explore the opportunities before them and to witness the joy of victory over self.”
