The Academy of Underwater Arts and Sciences has announced a new scholarship program, and applications are also now open for the 2022 Zale Parry Scholarship.
The new scholarship that will provide up to US$10,000/~€9,777 of assistance is the AUAS/DAN Diving Medicine Research Scholarship, jointly funded by the Divers Alert Network. The scholarship, applications for which are due September 15th, 2022, endeavors to expand our understanding of the functioning of human physiology in the marine environment.
According to AUAS President Dan Orr:
“The scholarship was established through a generous initial donation from a NOGI Fellow and will support important diving medicine research in the future.”
The 2022 Zale Parry Scholarship is now taking applications, with the deadline being August 31st, 2022. The program is aimed at candidates in a Master’s or Ph.D. level course in a diving field of study, including:
- Marine Conservation and Education.
- Diving Medicine and Hyperbaric.
- Ocean Engineering.
- Underwater Archaeology.
