Alexandra Rose Wins Ocean Conservancy’s 2022 Photo Contest

-

Underwater shutterbug Alexandra Rose has won the Judge’s Choice prize in the Ocean Conservancy’s 2022 Photo Contest.

The judgesShin Arunrugstichai, Matt Bagley, Daisy Gilardini and Esther Horvath — chose Rose’s winning photo, titled “Surprise,” of a sea lion swimming through a school of sardines.

According to the Ocean Conservancy’s website announcing the winners:

“We were absolutely dazzled by all the incredible submissions this year.”

On her Facebook page, Rose wrote:

“A big thanks to Luke Inman of The Dive Gurus in La Paz for making an image like this possible. Without his knowledge of the area, contagious love for these sea lions, and incredible patience with vexing underwater photographers, I wouldn’t be making this post.”
